<p>The invention provides a manufacturing method of glass base material. By adopting the manufacturing method of the glass base material, the manufacturing cost can be prohibited and glass particle piling bodies can be manufactured. The manufacturing method of the glass base material includes a glass particle piling body manufacturing procedure utilizing an effuser (13) to effuse and pile generated glass particles to a marker supported on a holding mechanism. In the glass particle piling body manufacturing procedure, a rod part functioning as the marker is jointed with a holding rod part (21) held by the holding mechanism integrally, thereby forming a base rod (11). The effuser (13) is arranged on the holding rod part holding the base rod on the holding mechanism in manner that an extension cord (B) of an end part (A) of the effuser in a side of the holding rod part in parallel with an X axis (X) of the effuser does not pass through a side of the holding rod part (21) of a joint part (C) between the holding rod part (21) and the rod part (22). The effuser (13) is utilized to effuse the glass particle to the rod part (22) functioning as the marker.</p> |
