<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmission path search system in which transmission request information received from a user is not discarded. <P>SOLUTION: From an information terminal 15, when a registration request packet, having a described content name relative to content information retained in the self-terminal, is transmitted, the packet is received through a base station 14 and the content name is registered in a server 11, or the content name is registered in an overlay network through a gateway 12. When a transmission request packet, having the described content name relative to the content information of desired acquisition is received from the information terminal 15, is transmitted, the packet is received through the base station 14, and further, using the content name, the server 11 in a domain 10 having the content name already registered therein is searched.
