The present invention provides a structure of a fuel filler cap, mounted on the fuel filler pipe of a fuel tank and allowing a valve plate to be opened when negative pressure is generated in the fuel tank. The structure of a fuel filler cap comprises a housing and a spring. The housing has an opening hole formed on the upper end, a stepped part getting bigger downward in internal diameter and formed along the periphery of the opening hole to be positioned below the opening hole, and a locking jaw protruding from the inner circumferential surface of the housing. The spring has the lower end supported by the locking jaw and the upper end pressed by the valve plate to close the opening hole. Compared to a conventional structure, the structure of a fuel filler cap allows a support washer to be deleted and has no protruding part, thereby reducing production costs. Moreover, the structure of the fuel filler cap has an increased internal diameter than the opening hole, thereby solving the problem with a conventional opening hole that is not opened due to viscosity of a rubber plate. |
