The purpose of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device which has improved display quality. A plurality of domains are defined on a display substrate of the liquid crystal display device. The display substrate includes a pixel electrode and a common electrode, which are disposed in each of the domains. The pixel electrode defines a plurality of slits, and the common electrode is insulated from the pixel electrode. The domains are arranged in a column direction and a row direction. The domains each have a first side, a second side facing the first side, a first horizontal side parallel to the row direction to connect the first side to the second side, and a second horizontal side facing the first horizontal side to connect the first side to the second side. The first side is parallel to the column direction, and the second side is parallel to a diagonal direction of the column direction. A slit is defined between two branch electrodes adjacent to each other. The slit adjacent to the first horizontal side has a first width, and the slit adjacent to the second horizontal side has a second width different from the first width.
