The present invention relates to a device and a method to automatically correct a squeegee position of a screen printer, capable of easily maintaining the horizontal position of the front end of a squeegee, and obtaining sufficient printing precision. The screen printer with a screen panel (11) and a squeegee (20) includes: an angle controller controlling an angle of the squeegee (20); a laser displacement meter (15) measuring a first distance, which is a horizontal distance of the front end of the squeegee (20) while the squeegee (20) is vertically bent down, and a second distance, which is a horizontal distance of the front end of the squeegee (20) while the squeegee is inclined at an attack angle, a predetermined included angle between the squeegee (20) and an upper surface of the screen panel (11); and a squeegee operating unit (12) horizontally moving the squeegee from a position, inclining the squeegee at the attack angle, to a print starting position based on a difference between the first and second distances while the squeegee (20) is inclined at the attack angle. |
