A retainer 10 for retaining at least one article 12 against a support surface 14, which retainer comprises a bungee arrangement 16 which is such that: the bungee arrangement is positioned on the support surface; the bungee arrangement forms a retaining configuration 18 for retaining the article against the support surface with the article being trapped between the retaining configuration and the support surface, and with the article being held in position due to the inherent resilience in the bungee arrangement; and the retaining configuration has at least one aperture 20 positioned such as to prevent the bungee arrangement from retaining articles of a predetermined size and/or shape, whereby the retainer is only able to retain articles suitable for storage. Straps may be X-shaped in orientation and have a pull means 22 such as a handle 24. The bungee cord may be attached to the support surface by means of fasteners such as protruding hooks or tabs (32, Fig.6). the retainer may comprise a cover 40 to block sections of the open framework. Retainer may be attached to a vehicle seat 2 or a luggage space. |
