<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an erasure device for improving the ability of handling a sheet remaining in a transport path when sheet transport is discontinued by an error.SOLUTION: An erasure device of the present embodiment comprises a transport unit, a reading unit, an erasure unit, a first paper ejection unit, a second paper ejection unit, and a control unit. The transport unit transports a sheet along a transport path. The reading unit, provided along the transport path, executes a reading process on the transported sheet. The erasure unit, provided along the transport path, erases an image on the transported sheet. The first and second paper ejection units accommodate a sheet ejected from the transport path. The control unit transports, when transport is discontinued, a sheet readable by the reading unit, among sheets remaining within the transport path, to the first paper ejection unit after the reading process, and transports a sheet not readable by the reading unit to the second paper ejection unit different from the first paper ejection unit.</p> |
