The present invention relates to a system (1) for the automated analysis of liquid samples, comprising: one or more processing units (3) for reaction between said samples and one or more reagents to take place to thereby obtain reaction products; a sample unit (7) for supplying said samples to said one or more processing units (3); a reagent unit (5) equipped with plural reagent vessels (8) containing one or more reagents for mixing with said samples; a distribution unit (6) for distributing fluids including said one or more reagents provided with plural distribution lines (13) at least some of which being connected to said reagent vessels (8) and said one or more processing units (3); at least one analytical unit (2) for analyzing said samples based on said reaction products, said analytical unit (2) including at least one detector (4, 19) for detecting said reaction products.
