The present invention relates to a composition containing an extract of corylopsis coreana as an active ingredient for treating or preventing diseases caused by infection from pathogens, especially antibiotic-resistant inflectional microorganisms. The extract of corylopsis coreana which is the active ingredient of the present invention has an excellent antibacterial activation with respect to at least one kind of pathogen selected from a group comprising Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. In addition, the present invention is nontoxic, minimizes side effects since it is derived from natural material, and can be widely used for preventing and treating disease caused by microorganism infection.
