An attachment 300 suitable for a hand held appliance such as a hot air brush comprises a body 310 having a first wall of a cylindrical part 310 and a second wall of a preferably triangular part 330 which together define an outlet slot 342 formed along at least part of the length of the attachment 330. The triangular part 330 is preferably moveable within aperture (322, fig 11a) so that it is either defined by a surface of the first wall (326, fig.13a) and on a second side by a surface of the second wall (338, fig.13a), or by a surface of the first wall (324, fig.13a) and a surface of the second wall (336, fig.13a). The second wall (336, 338, fig.13a) may extend out from the first wall. The second wall (336, 338, fig.13a) may have a first and second indexed position defining a first slot position. An indexed position may be defined by a detent mechanism. The action of drawing the brush through the hair opens the outlet slot 342 and air is blown down along the triangular part 330, attracting hair to the surface. |
