PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network monitoring system for specifying a duplicated MAC address, for detecting MAC address duplication while distinguishing movement of a terminal having a MAC address including a VLAN network and a virtual machine without being affected by clearing of table information of a network device.SOLUTION: A network monitoring system includes: MAC address history information storing history of MAC address related information having a status indicating a state transition of a MAC address added thereto; acquisition means for acquiring as current information MAC address related information to be registered when a terminal is connected to a network device, from a MAC address table managed in the network device; extraction means for extracting as history information past MAC address related information from the MAC address history information, by using a MAC address in the current information as an inquiry key; and duplication detection determination processing means for comparing the current information with the history information to perform duplication detection of a MAC address. |
