PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system which can reduce power consumption.SOLUTION: A communication system 100, which causes a DFE 102 to shift from a power saving mode to a normal mode according to a restoration instruction notification transmitted from an MFP 101, identifies a restoration cause when the MFP 101 shifts from the power saving mode to the normal mode. Based on the identified restoration cause, the communication system 100 determines whether or not to transmit, from the MFP 101 to the DFE 102, the restoration instruction notification to shift the DFE 102 from the power saving mode to the normal mode. When the identified restoration cause corresponds to an item in transmission setting information 700 stored in advance, in which setting is made not to transmit the restoration instruction notification to the DFE 102, the restoration instruction notification is not transmitted from the MFP 101 to the DFE 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
