[Class 70] Rubber latex is preserved from coagulation and putrefaction by adding thereto a small quantity of a water soluble or dilute alkali soluble salt of a tetra- or penta-chlorophenol or a mixture thereof. Examples are given of the use of the sodium salt alone or with a small quantity of ammonia. The potassium, ammonium, barium and calcium salts may also be used.
