<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater capable of achieving a breakwater function without impairing scenery and also without having dependence on a driving source driven by electricity and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The breakwater 1 comprises a bank body 2 (caisson 4) to be arranged along a coastline and a breakwater body 3 that turns on the bank body 2 so as to freely rise and fall.
