A method for selecting a satellite in determining a location by using a global navigation satellite system comprises the following steps of: enabling a receiver to receive a satellite signal from receivable satellites; enabling the receiver to calculate a DOP value which reflects a pseudo-range weighted value to each satellite signal combination including at least four satellite signals; and enabling the receiver to select a satellite signal combination having a DOP value, which is lower than a reference value, among the satellite signal combinations.
