In the present invention, provided is a Dendropanax morbiferus extract for improving liver function, comprising chlorogenic acid and/or polyphenol as marker components. The extract according to the present invention improves liver function by rapidly recovering the liver function damaged by hepatotoxic substances based on an excellent antioxidant activity and an excellent hepatocyte protective efficacy, and also improves liver function by relieving hangovers and protecting the hepatocyte through promoting degradation of alcohol and acetaldehyde.
