The present invention relates to a lightweight sound absorbing and heat insulating material which includes a binder, an expanded graphite and a swelling clay where the swelling clay has a honeycomb layered structure including water molecules of a particle size of 50-200 including 10-100 parts by weight of expanded graphite to the swelling clay of 100 parts by weight, and a method to manufacture the same. According to the present invention, the lightweight sound absorbing and heat insulating material has improved sound absorbing property due to a usage of the expanded graphite and the honeycomb swelling clay; has excellent heat insulation, fire-resistance, and frame retardancy; and has a simple process with reduced production costs as the material can be manufactured without a curing process. |
