An LED backlight driving circuit and a backlight module. In the LED backlight driving circuit, an output end of a voltage conversion unit (201) is configured to connect a positive electrode of an LED, so as to supply a driving voltage to the LED; a driving unit (202) is configured to control the voltage conversion unit (201) to implement voltage conversion; a circuit protection unit (203) is connected in series between a negative electrode of the LED and the driving unit (202), a maximum allowable power of the circuit protection unit (203) being less than a power of the circuit protection unit (203) when the driving voltage of the LED is directly added to the circuit protection unit (203); and a control unit (204) outputs a control signal for stopping operation to the driving unit when an open circuit is formed on the circuit protection unit (203). By using the foregoing manner, the LED backlight driving circuit and the backlight module can protect a circuit device from being damaged, so that a short circuit protection function of the LED is more secure and reliable. |
