The present invention relates to a device and a method for measuring position information using GPS, Wi-Fi, etc. and correcting the error of the measured position information. The positioning device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a communication module for receiving coordinate information from a positioning system; a distance correcting module for conducting the first correction of current coordinates based on the moving distance of the current coordinates from previous coordinates collected through the communication module; a position vector calculating module for selecting multiple previous coordinates as reference coordinates and using the earliest coordinates of the selected reference coordinates as a standard point to calculate the position vectors of the other reference coordinates; a direction vector calculating module for calculating a direction vector by combining the position vectors; and a direction correcting module for conducting the second correction of the current coordinates having completed the first correction based on the direction vector. According to another aspect of the present invention, provided is a positioning method comprising the steps of: receiving coordinate information from the positioning system; conducting the first correction of the current coordinates based on the moving distance of the current coordinates from pre-collected previous coordinates; selecting multiple previous coordinates and using the earliest coordinates of the selected reference coordinates as a standard point to calculate the position vectors of the other coordinates; calculating a direction vector by combining the position vectors; and conducting the second correction of the current coordinates having completed the first correction based on the direction vector.
