The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for preventing leakage of vehicle information in a normal communications environment by inserting artificial communications data into vehicle traffic of a vehicle network. The method for preventing leakage of vehicle information comprises the following steps: analyzing a vehicle communications protocol of a module in a vehicle in comparison with a different module; determining whether encryption is applied to the vehicle communications protocol based on a result of analyzing the vehicle communications protocol; selecting a method for generating artificial communications data depending on whether the encryption is applied to the vehicle communications protocol; and generating the artificial communications data according to the selected method, and transferring the generated artificial communications data to an apparatus for preventing leakage of vehicle information which is connected to the different module.
