Disclosed is an apparatus for forming an image. The apparatus for forming an image comprises: an input unit which receives a scan option; a communications unit which transmits the inputted scan option to a different image forming apparatus; a scan unit which scans a first document in accordance with the scan option, and generates first scan data; and a control unit which receives second scan data which scans a second document in accordance with the scan option in the different image forming apparatus, and integrates the first scan data and the second scan data.
