1. A particulate detection system for detecting a quantity of particulates contained in exhaust gas which is discharged from an internal combustion engine and flows through an exhaust pipe, comprising:
a detection section for generating an output signal corresponding to the quantity of particulates contained in the exhaust gas, the detection section being attached to the exhaust pipe; and a drive processing circuit electrically connected to the detection section, driving the detection section, and detecting and processing the output signal from the detection section, wherein the drive processing circuit includes a measurement control circuit for delaying start of the driving of the detection section without driving the detection section until a start condition determined by the drive processing circuit is satisfied after startup of the internal combustion engine.
