generating an expected master identifier for a user account at a head end based on a plurality of receiver identifiers associated with an account; communicating the expected master identifier to a first user device of a plurality of user devices associated with an account; receiving the expected master identifier at the first user device; communicating the plurality of receiver identifiers from the plurality of receivers through a local area network associated with a user account to an identifier determination module located within the local area network; calculating a first master identifier within the identifier determination module based on the plurality of receiver identifiers received through the local area network; comparing the first master identifier to the expected master identifier at the first user device; and generating an error signal at the first user device in response to comparing.
