Provided are a display apparatus in which a user can easily video-call in a display apparatus by using identification information of a user terminal, and a control method thereof. The display apparatus of the present invention comprises: a communications unit connectable to an external device; a display unit for displaying an image of an application for a video call; and a control unit for executing the application, displaying information on an account related to the video call of the user corresponding to at least one external device connectable to the communications unit, and controlling the video call to be performed in a selected account based on permission information received from the external device corresponding to the selected account when any one of the displayed account is selected. Accordingly, a user can easily perform the video call with a display device for common use by logging in the account using the user terminal. |
