PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device in which a degree of freedom of a movable body is 3.SOLUTION: This brake device comprises: a coil 10 which is arranged for generating a magnetic field; a non-movable part 20 which is arranged at the surroundings of the coil 10, and becomes a magnetic path at the generation of the magnetic field; a movable body 40 including a movable part 410 which is formed of a soft magnetic material, and arranged while interposing a magnetic viscous fluid 30 between the non-movable part 20 and itself; and a support part 50 which blocks the magnetic path at the generation of the magnetic field, and supports the movable part 410 so that the movable part 410 does not contact with the non-movable part 20.
