PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor that can reduce power consumption.SOLUTION: Each of first to n-th photodetecting elements P_1 to P_n of n generates a photoelectric conversion signal according to the amount of light incident to a photodetection face. Each of first to n-th sequencers SEQ1 to SEQn of n has a sequencer input terminal in to which a k-th horizontal control signal is input, a sequencer output terminal for outputting a (k+1)-th horizontal control signal after the k-th horizontal control signal is input to the sequencer input terminal in. Each of first to n-th switches SW1 to SWn of n has a switch input terminal to which a signal corresponding to the photoelectric conversion signal generated by the k-th photodetecting element is input, a switch control terminal to which a k-th pixel control signal based on the k-th horizontal control signal is input, and a switch output terminal which is conducted to the switch input terminal according to the k-th pixel control signal input to the switch control terminal.
