PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that reduces a variation in speed of a sheet being conveyed and reduces the generation of damage to an image formed on the sheet, so as to suppress an adverse effect on a read image, and an image forming apparatus including the image reading device.SOLUTION: A rotation member 301 that rotates on the shaft orthogonal to the conveyance direction in contact with a sheet is provided on the upstream of a conveyance path of the sheet (downstream conveyance path R2) and on the downstream side in the conveyance direction with respect to a reading part 9 and on the upstream side with respect to a downstream-side conveyance roller 88b.
