PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photo-acoustic apparatus capable of reducing the amount of data of a reception signal stored in a memory.SOLUTION: A photo-acoustic apparatus comprises: a light source 100; a receiving element 300 for receiving a photo-acoustic wave, which is produced by the irradiation of light generated from the light source 100 upon an analyte, thereby to output a time series reception signal; a signal data acquisition part 710 for acquiring information based upon the shape of said analyte E, so that the data quantity of the received signal is reduced on the basis of the information based on the shape of said analyte E thereby to produce received signal data, and for storing the received signal data; and an information acquisition part 720 for acquiring the information of the analyte on the basis of the received signal data stored in the signal data acquisition part. |
