PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a bead filler excellent in low heat generation properties and high modulus after vulcanization, and a pneumatic tire produced using the rubber composition.SOLUTION: Provided is a rubber composition for a bead filler comprising a diene rubber, carbon black and a nitrone compound having a carboxyl group, in which the diene rubber includes a natural rubber and a styrene-butadiene rubber, the total of the natural rubber in the total of the diene rubber and the nitrone compound is 60 mass% or above, the content of the styrene-butadiene rubber in the total of the diene rubber and the nitrone compound is 40 mass% or lower, the content of the carbon black is 40 to 80 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of the total of the diene rubber and the nitrone compound, and the content of the nitrone compound is 0.1 to 10 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of the total of the diene rubber and the nitrone compound. |
