Disclosed are a mobile terminal and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the mobile terminal comprises: a brainwave sensing portion; a brainwave recognition portion; a display portion; and a control portion. The control portion controls the display portion in order to display a first screen corresponding to a first application which is being executed, controls the brainwave sensing portion to sense a brainwave, controls the brainwave recognition portion to recognize the sensed brainwave based on the first application, and controls the display portion to display a second screen of which at least a part is different from the first screen based on a recognition result of the brainwave.
