PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery having a high discharge capacity.SOLUTION: A lithium ion secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode layer including a positive electrode current collector layer and a positive electrode active material layer disposed on the positive electrode current collector layer; a negative electrode layer including a negative electrode current collector layer and a negative electrode active material layer disposed on the negative electrode current collector layer; and an electrolytic layer through which the positive and negative electrode layers are laminated. At least one of the positive and negative electrode active material layers includes, as an active material, a first compound consisting of lithium vanadium phosphate and a second compound consisting of at least one of a metal phosphate, a metal pyrophosphate and a metal vanadate. The ratio B/A of the particle size of particles of the second compound to the particle size A of particles of the first compound is satisfies the condition given by: 0.01<B/A<0.2. The content of the second compound is 0.1-7.2 wt%. |
