PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent freezing of water inside a water quality adjustment part for suppressing scale deposition.SOLUTION: A water heater includes: a hot water storage tank 3; a water supply pipe 12 in which water supplied to a lower part of the hot water storage tank 3 flows; a heating device 10 for heating the water fed from the lower part of the hot water storage tank 3 via a water inflow conduit 18; a hot water tapping conduit 19 in which the water heated in the heating device 10 flows to an upper part of the hot water storage tank 3; and a water quality adjustment part 23 arranged at the water inflow conduit 18 or the water supply pipe 12 in a detachable manner, and for making the water quality of the inflow water the water quality where scale hardly generates and flowing it out. At the water inflow conduit 18 or the water supply pipe 12 on an upstream side of the water quality adjustment part 23, an auxiliary heating device 60 for heating the hot water flowing into the water quality adjustment part 23 is provided. Thus, the water flowing into the water quality adjustment part 23 is heated at the auxiliary heating device 60, and freezing of the water inside the water quality adjustment part 23 can be prevented. |
