PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deformed wire coil spring strong against distortion and easy to curve, and reduce the cost and size of a manipulator.SOLUTION: A coil spring formed by winding a metal wire material having a predetermined cross-sectional shape into a cylindrical shape is pressed in the axis direction of the coil spring with a predetermined pressure. Consequently, a deformed wire coil spring 1 subjected to plastic working is obtained so that the cross-sectional shape of winding of the coil spring is made into a laterally long shape in the radial direction of the coil spring.
