PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve weight reduction of a drive unit for a bicycle.SOLUTION: A drive unit 10 for a bicycle of the invention includes a crank shaft 14 and a housing 12. The housing 12 includes: a first cover part 51 and a second cover part 52 which are made of a synthetic resin; and a metal body part 50. The first cover part 51 and the second cover part 52, which are made of the synthetic resin, support the crank shaft 14. The metal body part 50 is disposed between the first cover part 51 and the second cover part 52 which are made of the synthetic resin. The metal body part 50 forms an internal space S with the first cover part 51 and the second cover part 52. |
