PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance response speed experienced on the terminal side, by reducing the number of times of inquiring a server, in the resolution of the name of DNS in a repeating device for use in dual stack environment.SOLUTION: Upon receiving the DNS query of one of IPv4 and IPv6 from the LAN side, a repeating device relays the DNS query to a DNS server on the WAN side, generates the DNS query of the other of IPv4 and IPv6, corresponding to the DNS query, transmits the DNS query to the DNS server, and receives a response and holds the IP address of the other where the name is resolved. Upon receiving the DNS query of the other of IPv4 and IPv6 from the LAN side, the repeating device responds the IP address as a DNS response. |
