PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method and a cooling apparatus for cooling a coiled hot rolled steel sheet with high efficiency without forming rust on the coil.SOLUTION: There is provided the cooling method for a coiled hot rolled steel sheet which is wound by a winder installed in a hot rolling line so as to be formed in a coil, and thereafter, is disposed on a cooling bed. In the method, mist as a coolant is jetted onto both width-direction end surfaces of the coiled hot rolled steel sheet on the cooling bed, so that the coiled hot rolled steel sheet is cooled by intermittent cooling, and a combination of a jetting time and a stop time of the mist is changed according to a surface temperature of the coiled hot rolled steel sheet on the cooling bed. |
