PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method reduced in number of processes in manufacturing a roller including an elastic foam roller portion and a shaft portion.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a roller by adhering an elastic foam roller 23 and a shaft 11 through an adhesive layer 11, includes a process for forming a hot melt adhesive layer in a range to adhere a roller portion around a shaft material, a process for mounting a cap member 30 having a cylindrical portion 32 to which a tapered tip portion 31 and a shaft material can be inserted, while covering an end portion of the adhesive layer by the cylindrical portion, a process for making the cap member mounted on the shaft, penetrate from one end face to the other in the longitudinal direction of a rod-shaped elastic foam 20 to insert the shaft material to the elastic foam, a process for removing the cap member from the shaft material and forming the shaft portion, a process for adhering the elastic foam and the shaft portion by heating, and a process for forming the roller portion by grinding the elastic foam substantially into the columnar shape. |
