PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for coating of a steel cord which is improved in mixing processability at a higher level while improving the adhesiveness to a steel cord.SOLUTION: A rubber composition for coating of a steel cord comprises 40-80 pts. wt. of carbon black of a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area NSA or 60-120 m/g, 0.3-2 pts. wt. of a farnesene polymer and 0.5-2 pts. wt. of an organic acid cobalt salt to 100 pts. wt. of a diene rubber containing 90 wt.% or more of natural rubber, and the combined blend ratio of the farnesene and the organic acid cobalt salt is 1-3 pts. wt.
