PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed governor capable of preventing a foreign matter from being caught in a speed governor tension pulley.SOLUTION: A speed governor 10 includes: a governor rope 12 connected to a car 4 so as to move in conjunction with lifting and lowering operation of the car 4, and formed of only one annular rope; a governor sheave 14 around which an upper folded part of the governor rope 12 is wound; a governor tension pulley 16 around which a lower folded part of the governor rope 12 is wound; a top face cover 20 which covers the top face of the governor tension pulley 16; and coil spring members 22 provided to the top face cover 20, which are wound around the governor rope 12 a plurality of times. |
