The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for controlling an engine clutch of a hybrid vehicle, capable of controlling torque of an input shaft of an engine to be 0 by re-injecting fuel of an engine if an engine clutch is released in the driving situation while fuel of an engine of a hybrid vehicle is blocked. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for controlling an engine clutch of a hybrid vehicle comprises: an engine clutch for selectively connecting an engine and a motor which are a power source; a driving information detection part for detecting the current driving state of a hybrid vehicle and request information of a driver; and a controller for controlling torque of an engine shaft to be 0 by injecting fuel of an engine if releasing of the engine clutch is required in driving of a hybrid vehicle while fuel of an engine is blocked based on a signal of the driving information detection part. |
