PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: in printing immediately after the completion of warm-up control for fixing, such as turn-on of a power source when an image forming apparatus is cooled down, dew condensation occurs resulting from the state where a conveyance guide on the downstream in the conveyance direction is cooled compared with a fixing unit, which may cause adhesion of water droplets to a recording material and generation of image defects and conveyance failure resulting from the adhesion.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a heating rotating body and a pressure rotating body that fix a toner image on a sheet at a nip part therebetween; contact/separation means for contacting/separating the heating rotating body to/from the pressure rotating body; a guide member that guides the conveyance of the sheet subjected to fixation processing at the nip part; air blowing means for cooling at least a part of the pressure rotating body by blowing the air during the fixation processing; and execution means for executing air blowing processing of causing the contact/separation means to separate the heating rotating body from the pressure rotating body during warm-up processing, and causing the air blowing means to blow the air toward the guide member through a space between the heating rotating body and the pressure rotating body. |
