According to the present invention, a method for automatically controlling a vehicle infotainment system comprises the following steps of: enabling a sensor included in a vehicle to detect whether a user of the vehicle is located in the vehicle when a door event of the vehicle is generated; and enabling a controller included in the vehicle to control an infotainment system included in the vehicle to stop reproducing multimedia when it is detected that the user is not located in the vehicle by the sensor.
