PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high voltage DC power transmission system and a control method for the same that can efficiently detect an abnormal voltage stage on a DC power transmission wire and control the operation of the high voltage DC power transmission system.SOLUTION: A high voltage DC power transmission system has a rectifying device for converting AC power to DC power, an inverter for converting the DC power to AC power, a DC power transmission wire for transmitting the DC power converted by the rectifying device to the inverter, a first effective power measuring unit for measuring first effective power input to the rectifying device, a second effective power measuring unit for outputting second effective power output from the inverter, and a first controller for detecting an abnormal voltage state on the DC power transmission wire on the basis of the measured first effective power and second effective power. |
