PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine image even when a subject is photographed under a light source generating flicker.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: imaging means; setting means for setting exposure time of the imaging means; photometric means; calculation means for calculating a light quantity change characteristic of light from a subject; correction means for correcting a photometric value obtained by performing photometry by the photometric means on the basis of the exposure time set by the setting means; and determination means for determining an exposure control value required for performing exposure at timing set based on the light quantity change characteristic calculated by the calculation means on the basis of the photometric value corrected by the correction means.
