PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic fine particle structure, in which the metallic fine particle structure having a plurality of metallic fine particles, which are isolated from one another and disposed uniformly, is produced inexpensively and easily in a large area, and to provide a metallic nanoparticle structure which can improve characteristics of various devices such as the conversion efficiency of a solar cell, the luminous efficiency of a light emitting element, and the detection sensitivity when Raman spectrum is measured.SOLUTION: The method for producing the metallic fine particle structure comprises: a first oxidization step of oxidizing a metallic thin film which is formed on a substrate; and a first reduction step of reducing the metallic thin film oxidized at the first oxidization step.
