PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brace member with high (large) flexural capacity.SOLUTION: A brace member 100 includes a plastically-deformable axial force member 10, a stiffening pipe 20 into which the axial force member 10 is inserted in order to restrict out-of-plane deformation of the axial force member 10, a mouthpiece 30 in which one end 11a in a longitudinal direction of the axial force member 10 and one end 21a in the longitudinal direction of the stiffening pipe 20 are installed, a mouthpiece crevice 40 provided on the mouthpiece 30 in such a manner of protruding to a direction opposite from the axial force member 10 and the stiffening pipe 20 so as to work as a joint for installation on a building structure, a reinforcement member 50 in which the other end 11b in the longitudinal direction of the axial force member 10 is installed, and a reinforcement member crevice 60 provided on the reinforcement member 50 in such a manner of protruding to a direction opposite from the axial force member 10 so as to work as a joint for installation on the building structure. The reinforcement member 50 surrounds a prescribed region from the other end surface 20b in the longitudinal direction of the stiffening pipe 20. |
