244,400. Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges. Dec. 9, 1924, [Convention date]. Addition to 234,463. Artificial lines. - The artificial line constructed in accordance with the parent Specification, that is, having a lower inductance-capacity product than the corresponding working line while the inductancecapacity quotient is the same as that of the working line, is made asymmetrical, the condensers C1, C2 being unequal. It is stated that this arrangement gives an improved imitation of the imaginary part of the resistance of the cable for the higher speech frequencies. A similar improvement for the lower frequencies may be effected by adding a small condenser Co in front of the network. It is stated that the artificial line can imitate a repeater for ringing currents and the accessory condensers for shutting off such currents, and that a cable extended by artificial lines can be similarly imitated. |
