PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric brake device that can achieve redundancy in the case of an occurrence of an abnormality in a load sensor without increasing the size of the load sensor.SOLUTION: An electric brake device includes a brake rotor, a friction pad, an electric motor 2, a transfer mechanism, brake force command means 26a, brake force estimation means 30, motor rotation angle detection means 28, and a control device 7. The brake force estimation means 30 includes a load sensor 13 for detecting elastic deformation of a predetermined member that constitutes the electric brake device. The control device 7 includes sensor abnormality detection means 38 that stores sensor output of the load sensor 13 in a motor rotation angle in which the brake force becomes zero, and estimates that plastic deformation has occurred in the load sensor 13 from a transition of the stored sensor output. |
