PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lighten a load pertaining to authentication.SOLUTION: An authentication system comprises a plurality of passage permission devices, an authentication information input device, and an authentication device. Each of the plurality of passage permission devices notifies the authentication device of user identification information for identifying a user and passage related information associated with the passage permission device when the user passes through a passageway in which the passage permission device is installed. The authentication information input device accepts the input of the user identification information and authentication information for authenticating the user. The authentication device receives the user identification information and passage related information from each of the plurality of passage permission devices, stores the received user identification information and passage related information in correlation in a storage unit, generates authentication information corresponding to the user identification information on the basis of the passage related information correlated to the stored user identification information, receives the user identification information accepted by the authentication information input device and the authentication information, and authenticates the user by collating the received authentication information with the generated authentication information. |
