PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact structure which realizes a function to adjust an EGR gas temperature at an arbitrary temperature and improves durability.SOLUTION: An EGR device of an engine has a cylinder block, a cylinder head and an EGR passage to return exhaust gas taken out of an exhaust passage of an engine to an air intake passage as EGR gas. The EGR passage is made up of: an EGR intake passage which is formed in the cylinder head and takes in the exhaust gas through an exhaust port of the cylinder head; an EGR cooling passage which is formed in the cylinder block, is communicated with the EGR introduction passage and is arranged in a manner that lies side by side with a lateral face of a water jacket surrounding a cylinder bore; and an EGR outlet passage which is formed in the cylinder head, is communicated with the EGR cooling passage and sends the EGR gas to the air intake passage through an EGR valve. |
